Hilti’s New Circular Saws

Consolidating its position as one of the leading manufacturers of cutting, sawing and grinding solutions, Hilti has expanded its portfolio with the cordless SC 70W-A22 and powerful corded SC 55 circular saws.

Both tools have been ergonomically designed and robustly built with the versatility to cut a wide range of wood materials including formwork boards, MDF, OSB, plywood, drywall board, cement board, chipboard, plastics and rafters.

The SC 70W-A22 is the world’s first cordless circular saw in the 18V+ class with a 70 mm cutting depth. It has a max load speed of 3,500rpm, and enables bevel cuts up to 50°.

The tool has a patented pre-selection of cutting angles and gauge marks to set the cutting depth, a fast blade brake (0.5 seconds), an LED light for clear visibility and is compatible with the Hilti guide rail for a more precise cut.

The product sits within the versatile Hilti 22V platform with interchangeable batteries and chargers across the portfolio. The ‘Make it Fit’ concept gives customers the flexibility to buy a circular saw without a battery or buy additional batteries and chargers separately.

The Hilti SC 55 Circular saw has also been designed to provide ease-of-use handling and is capable of cutting depths of 55mm – delivering 41mm at 45° – and has a maximum bevel angle of 50°.

Importantly the company’s entire range of circular saws are designed with a dust extraction connection. When used with Hilti M-Class vacuums, the connection provides virtually dust-free cutting, improving health and safety, productivity and tool and blade lifetimes.

“As a company we have been expanding our presence in the circular saw market with cutting edge tools and inserts of which the SC 70W-A22 and SC 55 represent the latest pioneering developments,” explained Christoffer Baumgarten, Hilti Product Manager (Light Duty Tools) for Northern Europe.

“Across the entire cordless and corded portfolio of circular, reciprocating and jigsaws we have tools that provide power, precision and performance alongside all critical health and safety requirements, especially those relating to dust removal.”

All Hilti circular saws can be purchased through Hilti’s Fleet Management programme whereby a fixed monthly charge covers all tool, service and repair costs over 36 months. For customers who prefer to own their own machines outright Hilti’s Lifetime Service gives a complete no-cost period of 24 months.
