Making the most of the Green Homes Grant

Making the most of the Green Homes Grant

The Green Homes Grant has launched, making 600,000 homeowners in England eligible for vouchers of up to £5,000 or £10,000 to make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.

As part of a £3bn government initiative to reduce carbon emissions across the UK, the Green Homes Grant is set to subsidise two-thirds of energy-efficient home improvements, or for low-income owners, a subsidy for 100% of the costs.

Adopting a tiered approach, the Green Homes Grant is in two stages, primary and secondary. Primary measures, including insulation and low carbon heat installations, must be used before eligible homeowners can move onto secondary measures and the money spent on the secondary cannot exceed that of the primary.

Taking advantage of increased demand

Only those builders with TrustMark installer status can take on projects and benefit under the Green Homes Grant, presenting a huge opportunity to increase business, boost sales and improve overall reputation.

Customers will be coming to builders with an idea in mind, and it is important to be equipped with the knowledge of products that can deliver the best value for the best application, to guide and advise homeowners.

Taking insulation as an example, one of the quickest and most effective way to reduce heat loss in a home is to insulate the loft. As what is spent in the primary measures cannot be exceeded in the secondary, giving customers the opportunity to pick a premium product can help to improve overall satisfaction, whilst also helping them to make the most of the government scheme.

So, what choice do you have?

Picking a premium

Stone wool insulation is the natural solution to meet the requirements of the Green Homes Grant and ROCKWOOL’s Thermal Insulation Roll is a stone wool material designed for loft applications.

Builders can rely on ROCKWOOL Thermal Insulation Roll to not only meet the relevant specification of the Green Homes Grant initiative and reduce carbon emissions with its outstanding thermal performance, but also to add value to the entire project.

ROCKWOOL’s Thermal Insulation Roll can make homes safer, warmer and quieter. The A1 non-combustible solution will not burn in the event of a fire, offering complete peace of mind in its performance.

Furthermore, reducing unwanted external noise, ROCKWOOL’s stone wool products have excellent acoustic properties, creating a tranquil environment for customers.
