The Spetz App is helping tradespeople worldwide to win more work by putting tradespeople in direct contact with homeowners. Professional Builder quizzes their team on the features and benefits of the app.
Q. How does the Spetz App bring tradespeople and homeowners together? And what new features is it bringing to the construction sector?
A. Speed and quality are amongst the central components of the Spetz App, together with a level of accuracy in identifying tradespeople with the correct set of skills, who are also in the best locations. Tradespeople can make an immediate connection with homeowners and don’t need to enter bidding wars against other competitors to win work. For many homeowners, waiting for work to be done isn’t an option, and it’s those features that combine to ensure they won’t have to. In fact, by using AI technologies, Spetz brings tradespeople and those in need together within 30 seconds and takes much of the hassle out of the process.
A homeowner can post a job from a selection of over 400 different services, in an average of ten seconds with images and a description of what’s required. The result is a connection at a time of their choosing with the most suitable tradesperson for that job and location.
- How do Spetz trade users make sure that they’re in control of who they’re services are being communicated to and where?
A. With Spetz, everything is in the control of the tradesperson. Not only can they define the specific locations they want to work, but also select the exact services they want to offer and times that they are available to speak with potential customers.
Q. How is Spetz charging for these services?
A. Unlike other platforms, Spetz doesn’t charge any membership fees, just to sit on a directory or charge for the lead where they still have to bid against other tradespeople, we also don’t take any commission on their jobs either. Instead, a small fee which starts as little as £6 for each service call is only levied on the tradesperson at the point at which they get the opportunity to contact their prospective customer, because it’s then that they’ve got the best chance of securing the job. We also have a loyalty programme where they can receive up to 50% discount on that fee.
Actually, many of our service calls from homeowners are exclusive to one tradesperson and based on our data 60% of them convert to paid jobs, so tradespeople can get high value jobs, with very little financial outlay.
- What about tradespeople who might not be particularly tech-savvy? Can they still get the most from the app?
A. Of course, the app is very simple to use. Setting up your account is straightforward and takes just three minutes. Once that’s complete, they can start making those business-boosting connections immediately. Spetz also has 24/7 online support, and every tradesperson is allocated an Account Manager from our UK Business Centre – so there’s always someone available for any help they might need.
- Can you tell us some more about the success of the Spetz App in other markets around the world?
A. Spetz is already a global company with a growing presence here in the UK. It’s been ten years in development and over $5 million in the making, is already established in Israel and Australia, with plans to launch in the US soon, as well as recently been acquired by a publicly listed company on the Canadian Securities Exchange. Spetz now has over 10,000 service providers, and over 250,000 consumer app installs worldwide.
