New study searches for carpenter jobs have increased the most by 809% in the last year

A new study by Paymentsense has found that carpentry are the highest searched for jobs. Paymentsense also analysed job boards across the U.K. and search trends to pinpoint exactly where these increases were happening and what industries are hiring the most for remote work.

Over the past year, the job market has changed a lot, with more importance placed on key workers while much of the public have discovered that they can work remotely from home. This study delves into how the market has changed during the pandemic.

As a lot of people have been stuck indoors for the last year, refurbishing and remodelling of homes have been a focus for a lot of families, and that followed the need for expertise.

Of all jobs in 2020, searches for carpenter roles increased the most by 809%. In fact, tradesmen appeared twice in the top 10 most searched for jobs of 2020, with plumbers coming in 3rd place with a 364% increase.

Carpentry salaries have increased by 13.83%

Throughout the years, carpentry has been known for its skill and precision. With roughly 803,000 new homes created in 2011 – 2019, the demand for remodelling and building expertise increased, along with the salaries.

Carpenters are among one of highest salary increases in 2020, ranking 9th with an increase of 13.83%, taking the average advertised pay from £32,791 January 2020 to £36,490 in January 2021.
