Zoro has created this graphic to highlight the ways tradesmen and women can protect their tools from theft.
According to Which? Trusted Traders, 51 per cent of builders have been victim to tool theft in the last year (which is a 30% per cent rise in this type of crimes). Out of these thefts, it was recorded that around 46 per cent of vans had their side panel or door broken, while 23 per cent had windows smashed.
A van gets broken into every 23 minutes, this has cost businesses over £46 million in the last three years. On average, downtime is costing the trades an estimated £550 a day per van.
