British Gypsum launches new training academy

British Gypsum is pleased to announce that it has opened the doors to a newly refurbished training academy at its Head Office in East Leake, Leicestershire, following a substantial investment in its training facilities, courses and personnel.

Designed to provide an enhanced practical training environment for those already in the industry as well as the next generation of installers, the new training academy at its Head Office in Leicestershire is just part of an investment that the company has made to help upskill and increase the competency of those already in the industry, and ensure that it does its bit to help the industry close the skills gap.

In response to the changing needs of those working on site and to help reduce the amount of time installers spend away from site, and as part of its latest investment, British Gypsum has increased its current course offering from 12 to 34 courses, developed new training pathways, and launched an interactive and immersive training prospectus and e-learning platform. These new training courses, platforms and pathways allow British Gypsum to continue delivering industry-leading training to those within the industry 24/7, reducing time spent away from site, maintaining productivity levels, whilst upskilling workforces to the highest levels.

Commenting on the launch of its newly refurbished training academy and its investment into its training offering as a whole, James Maclean, Head of Training Academies said: “We are committed to lead the way as a trusted partner and provide the support and facilities to help produce better building outcomes, so we are delighted to have invested in our training offering and open the doors to our new training academy in East Leake

“As the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance drylining solutions, our customers rely upon us to provide them with the correct technical and installation advice, so we are pleased to be able to provide them with state of the art training facilities, increase the number of courses we offer and develop more resources that are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure that we do all we can to help the industry close the skills gap.”

Throughout 2022, British Gypsum will continue to invest in its training facilities across its network of UK academies.
