SAFETY SYSTEMS

According to new testing by independent vehicle safety authority Euro NCAP, Ford Transit and Custom are two of the top-performing vans for active safety. Transit received a Gold award for its active safety features while Transit Custom earned a Silver award. Euro NCAP specifically commended Ford’s AEB system, recognising Pre-Collision Assist technology with Pedestrian Detection as a class-leading feature.

INFOTAINMENT

The latest in radio and infotainment technology is a feature of the MAN TGE Vans lin-up. The range-topping MAN Media Van Business Navigation package includes an 8in. TFT colour display with touchscreen and roof mounted 3-button module system. In addition, an advanced centre console roof mounted 3-button module offers Emergency call, MAN Breakdown Service, and MAN Info call services.

FREE TELEMATICS AND DASH CAM DATA

Europcar Vans and Trucks has partnered with telematics leader, Geotab and dash cam provider, SureCam, to offer a six-month free telematics and dash cam video data subscription on new long-term commercial vehicle agreements. With no onerous financial commitments, and the ability to select the latest Euro VI compliant vehicles, the company is promoting long-term rental as an ideal solution for construction firms.

LIGHT TRUCK

Updated finance and long-term warranty plans are amongst the latest additions to the Isuzu Grafter portfolio. The 3.5 tonne truck range now incorporates a choice of models on the most popular Grafter 120hp, including a new option over the standard 6-speed manual transmission in the shape of a fully automatic 6-speed gearbox, as well as incorporating updated steering and suspension features.

LARGE ELECTRIC LCV

Kickstarting Fiat’s foray into 100 per cent electric vehicles, the E-Ducato large LCV has a range of between 113 and 230 miles, depending on the variant. It is congestion charge and ULEZ-exempt, with a choice between two battery sizes – 47kWh or 79kWh. It takes just 2 hours and 25 minutes to go from zero to fully charged, and there’s a payload of up to 1,885kg, with volumes of between 10m3 and 17m3.

SPORTY VAN

A red contrast grille strip, new bumper, spoiler and 18in. alloy wheels available in gloss black are just some of the styling details on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Transporter T6.1 Sportline. The 2.0litre TDI 204 PS engine with 7-speed DSG gearbox is capable of 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds.

LEVC has announced a new official conversion partner for its new VN5 electric van. Sortimo specialises in custom-made storage solutions and offers a nationwide network of installation sites, while also helping customers to visualise the perfect van storage options with mySortimo, the online configurator. The company’s SR5 product has been customised to fit LEVC’s VN5.

VAUXHALL MOVANO

The first details of the all-New Vauxhall Movano and Movano-e have been released. The manufacturer is promising class-leading load volumes, a wide variety of body styles, seating for up to seven and low running costs. Both the electric and diesel versions will arrive in the UK later this year, with the former benefiting from a range of up to 139 miles (WLTP).
