A Southampton-based brickie is celebrating after winning big in Ibstock’s first ever #TagATradie social media competition.
James Roden, of Solid Build Contractors, was given his prize – a voucher worth £1,500 redeemable against a host of Ibstock products – at his local Jewson’s branch in Southampton. James beat hundreds of other entrants to take first prize in the #TagATradie social competition, which encouraged participants to ‘like and share’ specific posts from Ibstock’s official social media channels to be in with a chance of winning.
Speaking at his prize giving, James said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the first-ever #TagATradie giveaway with Ibstock. I’m a big fan of Ibstock products anyway, and this voucher has come at the perfect time, as we’re starting our next job imminently. It’s an extension project here in Southampton, and the foundations are already down. As luck would have it, we are using Ibstock’s Ashdown Medium Multi on the build, so the voucher will pay for all of the bricks used on this project!”
A regular customer at Jewson’s branch on Southampton’s Antelope Park retail estate, James was handed his prize by branch manager Simon Cannon and Scott McGregor, business development manager at Ibstock.
“Competitions like #TagATradie are so important for driving engagement between tradespeople and merchants, and we’re so happy to see a loyal customer of ours take the top spot! James is a very in-demand local tradie, who’s worked on some stand-out projects, so we can’t think of anyone more deserving of the prize”
