Following the success of last year’s initiative, Kick it with Keylite returns for 2023 with a brand-new message to support the construction sector.
To mark the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, this year, Keylite is challenging contractors and trades to “Pass it, Kick it, Keep it up” in the name of Mates in Mind, who work to address the stigma of poor mental health within the construction sector.
It’s simple, in order to ‘Pass it’, tradespeople can share photos or leads of the Keylite roof windows they’ve been working by tagging or direct messaging Keylite on social media – all to be in for a chance of winning top prizes.
Each ‘pass’ counts as one entry into Keylite’s monthly prize draw to win £50 sports vouchers, as well as an ultimate draw for a Sky Sports annual TV pass, worth over £400.
Trades will also be encouraged to ‘pass’ support to colleagues who may be struggling and aim to get people talking about mental health on site and in the workplace.
The 2022 initiative saw huge success – most recently witnessing Keylite win a Mates in Mind Impact Award, for ‘Best Commitment to Raising Mental Health Awareness Through Fundraising’, after raising a whopping £20,000 for the mental health charity and spreading awareness at builders’ merchant’s pop-up events across the UK and Ireland.
Jonathan Boland, Sales Director at Keylite, comments: “We received a phenomenal response and made a real industry impact in last year’s initiative, which is why we knew we had to continue to help break the stigma around mental ill-health in the construction sector by supporting Mates in Mind again in 2023.
“Once again we will be visiting builders’ merchants across the UK and Ireland – getting trades involved in kicking a ball through a Keylite roof window, starting up the conversation around the ‘pass it’ campaign and raising money for Mates in Mind, who do such fantastic work within our sector. Trades should keep an eye on the Kick it with Keylite webpage to find an event near them.
“The ‘Pass it’ message is not only to find out more about the amazing projects our roof windows end up being a part of, but also to encourage the construction industry to ‘pass’ on kind words and keep talking to each other. As the saying goes: “A problem shared is a problem halved”, so keep passing, keep talking and keep breaking the stigma – you never know who might need it.”
