A compilation of free training resources for existing and aspiring plumbers and heating engineers has been launched to help those that are currently not working or are self isolating.
The guide has been published by Boiler Guide and includes trade-specific skills such as an ‘Introduction to Plumbing Tools and Drawings’ and ‘Understanding Drainage and Water Distribution Systems’ modules, it also includes free business-specific guides for those who want tips on how to run their business.
For those who want to learn how to promote their business to potential new customers, a range of free digital marketing modules through Google and training courses are available alongside accountancy and customer service sections.
David Holmes, founder at Boiler Guide, said: “We recognise it is a really tough time for installers across the country and we wanted to create a resource that could provide useful advice and support for those that are stuck at home and want to develop their wider skills.
“This guide provides an array of free resources that can teach you something new about your trade-specific skills, or if you just want to learn some new ways on how to grow your business. It doesn’t matter if you have been working in the trade for a few months or a few decades!
“Now is also a great time to be encouraging school leavers to be thinking about heating engineering as a possible career option and I hope these resources could provide a little taster into some of the skills of the job.”
Some of the resources in the guide such as the Moz Academy digital marketing courses (usually costing up to £170) are only available until the 31st May so it’s worth taking a look as soon as you can.
