Almost three quarters of tradespeople regularly go to the gym

Those working in construction are more likely to spend their free time in the gym than those working in other industries, according to a new survey.

The research, which was carried out by WMB Logistics, found that 71 per cent of construction workers say they regularly go to the gym, spending a whopping 15 hours and 30 minutes in the gym every week, on average.

Lifting weights was the workout of choice for 83 per cent of those gym-going tradespeople, with 57 per cent stating that strength work at the gym helped them keep up with the physical demands on their job.
