The Golf Classic 2018’s final will be held at the end of the month.
This year’s Grand Final is set to be one of the most competitive with players competing with handicaps ranging from 0 to 20. Held at Slaley Hall, a beautiful Edwardian mansion in Northumberland, the resort’s Hunting Course is a European Tour venue and is known as the ‘Augusta of the North’.
The Golf Classic is an opportunity for professionals working in the UK construction industry to challenge their golf skills, make friends and forge business contacts, encouraging players of all abilities to return and new entrants to participate each year. This year plumbing and heating engineers, builders, architects, and electrical contractors, amongst other trades and professions, were represented.
Spencer Gilbert and Cliff Evans from MAB Commercial Contracts are through to the final. In a statement on the semi-final, the pair said “We had a fantastic round of golf, which was close at the end and couldn’t have asked to have played against a better pairing than Ollie and Robert. It made the round a pleasure to play.”
The final takes place on the 28 September. The winners will take home a trophy and Pro Shop vouchers. There are also prizes for the Runner-up, Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive. All finalists enjoy a gala dinner, prize giving, and luxury stay at Slaley Hall.
