- Rated People recognised in three of the Sunday Times’ Best Companies lists
- New CEO pushes business into profitability for the first time
- Success attributed to an inclusive workplace culture that fosters transparency and trust
Find-a-tradesperson platform, Rated People is pleased to announce it has secured a position on three of the Sunday Times’ Best Companies lists.
For the first time, the company appears on the UK’s 100 Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For, London’s 50 Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For and the Business Services’ 20 Best Companies to Work For – a sector-specific category, new for 2021.
This success can be attributed to a series of changes made by new CEO, Adrienne Minster. Appointed in March 2020, Adrienne is passionate about making Rated People an inspiring place to work and building a strong, high performing team who loves what they do and how they go about doing it. This started by establishing a dedicated ‘People Team’ to listen to the diverse needs and wants of employees across the company and then creating the focus needed to make real change. Regular staff feedback has been used to implement a number of meaningful improvements, including a generous parental leave policy and a personal development and leadership coaching framework.
New company values were also vital in creating a strong and connected team. This set the foundation for success by helping to shape an inclusive and transparent company culture that permeates the business, from its hiring processes right through to the customer experience.
This focus on people and values has resulted in strong commercial performance too. Having trust, open communication and transparency at its core, has helped the Rated People team identify and tackle both challenges and opportunities quickly and collaboratively. This was critical to managing quickly through the pandemic. In this difficult trading environment, Adrienne and the team led the business to profitability for the first time and have set a strong foundation for growth.
Adrienne Minster, CEO of Rated People commented:
“We are delighted to be recognised in the Times 100 list of best UK companies, for our outstanding commitment to workplace engagement. We are extremely proud of our people and our culture at Rated People and, as a team, we work continuously to make our company a wonderful place to work. This award is recognition of what we’ve achieved so far, and of the many more exciting initiatives that are still to come.”
This people-first approach will continue to be a core strategic pillar for the business in 2021 and beyond.
