Find-a-tradesperson platform, Rated People, has appointed Rekha Mehr MBE to its board as an Investor Director representing Foresight Group. The appointment comes as Foresight Group acquires the technology ventures division of Downing LLP, of which Rated People is part. Foresight Group are an ambitious scale-up tech investor, with £12billion of assets under management.
Rekha has a tech operator background and is now a venture investor and advisor. In this role, she will draw on her experience of working with tech giants such as Amazon and JustEAT to support the team and build on its success to date.
2022 is shaping up to be another standout year at Rated People. With Rekha on board, the company will have a majority of women Directors for the first time in its history. This marks a continued commitment to lead the way for diversity in the industry, following the launch of the Rated People Empowering Tradeswomen Programme in March this year.
Rekha was an early employee at Amazon and went on to join other high-growth companies before creating venture programmes to support and scale early-stage companies. She founded her own luxury food brand, Pistachio Rose London, and Innovation Services Consultancy, Moonrekha, allowing her to understand first-hand the challenges of not only starting but growing a business. In 2016, she was awarded an MBE for her services to Entrepreneurship & Enterprise. Since then, Rekha has continued to help companies unlock the right tools for innovation, including working with MassChallenge UK and supporting 100+ early-growth companies in its first year, raising over £1m sponsorship.
