How to get your business off the ground

A user of the global Spetz App reveals how he has used the technology to get his business off the ground. Professional Builder’s Lee Jones talks to Olanrewaju Banjo about winning more work.

In the fast-paced world of service provision – where consumers and prospective customers invariably require instant answers – online resources need to keep track. I like the fact that we’re only charged when we’re actually in touch with the customer because it’s at that point that we’ve got the best chance of securing the work. We recently secured a contract worth £10,000 through Spetz, for example, and there’s been a number of smaller projects besides that. Not only that, but it allows me to be in control of exactly where I want to work because I can define the amount of miles I’m willing to travel, any locations I don’t want to travel to, and when I’m available.

For a busy service provider like Olanrewaju, it’s not just speed but the simplicity of the system that appeals: “Once you’ve registered it’s very easy to set up your profile and you can then start receiving calls from potential clients. Because everything can be managed through an app downloaded to your phone it’s actually a very straightforward and convenient concept.”

The Manchester-based tradesman is also full of praise for the support he receives, including a dedicated Spetz account manager. “There’s someone on hand if I need them and if I have any questions about the App and how it’s working for me. The loyalty programme has helped to save money by reducing the cost of calls and providing more value for money, for instance.”
