DI-WHY? 26th February 2020

Time for another batch of your DI-WHY? submissions – and this week we have some wonderful examples of DIY-gone-wrong or bodged jobs that the professionals have spotted on site.

First up, reader Lee Shilling sent the above picture in. He said: ‘Called by a customer to a badly leaking gutter pipe. He has just had it done but now couldn’t get hold of the person who did it. Round pegs and square holes comes to mind!’

Then, Darren Meeks submitted this dodgy electrical work to us on Facebook. He said:  ‘Found this 6mm that was supplied by a 30amp rewireable fuse feeding a cooker someone had twisted the conductors together and joined in a 2.5 and a 1.5 to feed the garage sockets and garage lights!’

Finally, also on Facebook, Peter Walmsley sent us this, and he said: ‘Cellar room knocked through around the 1940s.’

If you spot any examples of DIY-gone-wrong or bodged jobs like these, please do send them in to us on probuildonline@gmail.com or  tag us on TwitterInstagram and Facebook.

All submissions that we use will get a limited edition DI-WHY? sticker!
