The OLFA L5-AL X-Design 18mm cutter is part of the X-Design cutter series and is made in Japan to exceptionally high standards. The series is comprised of five different models – the X-A1, L5-AL, L5, XH-AL and the XH-1. Each model comes pre-loaded with an Excel Black ultra-sharp snap-off blade (9mm, 18mm, 25mm).
The cutter is the best seller within the series. It features an anti-slip grip, for added safety even when applying extreme cutting force. The black snap-off blade is honed to perfection using ‘cutting edge’ technology, and sharpened over a wide angle resulting in a point of unparalleled sharpness.
The cutter also comes with a reliable auto-lock system that holds the blade firmly in place, even when cutting through tough materials. The cutter is suitable for heavy duty tasks as its elastomeric grip absorbs pressure and therefore reduces hand strain over prolonged periods. Its body is also reinforced with fibreglass which makes it resistant to solvents & easier to clean.
The end of the L5-AL X-Design model features a built-in hard metal pick which can be used for a variety of tasks such as opening paint cans and creasing wallpaper.
