Van Guard has recently launched its own range of aftermarket van locks and security plates and the new products will be on display at Toolfair in September at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
Van security is the fastest growing sector in van accessories due to a huge increase in van and tool theft. So 12 months ago, Van Guard decided to work alongside a leading name in the locks market to create its own range, using its vast manufacturing facilities in Devon, and previous experience in LCV security.
Back in the early 90s, as G.K. Land Engineering Co. Ltd, the company began developing a range of aftermarket rear window grilles/blanks to help those experiencing vehicle break-ins. The success of the window grilles allowed Van Guard to explore the van security market further by developing aftermarket bulkheads, tool stores and pipe carriers – all products that have been updated and redesigned bringing them right up to date for today’s tradesperson.
Van Guard is now stocking a range of van locks – all keyed alike and bespoke to the van model with door specific kits as standard. Van Guard’s deadlocks & hooklocks fitting to the vehicle’s door provide added security to the manufacturer’s existing locking mechanism. The slamlocks provide an immediate lock of the vehicle’s door upon closing, without the need for turning the key.
Replacement locks for the Ford Transit Custom have been specifically designed as a superior alternative to the existing locks, that are prone to being forced open. Van Guard’s range of loom guards stop thieves from cutting into the vehicle’s wiring loom, which can disable the central locking.
