Following a successful expansion into the UK market in 2016, and the appointment of Nick White, sales director EMEA, American-based surface preparation expert National Flooring Equipment has set up a permanent base in Manchester, UK.
Originating in Minnesota in 1968 as a family-run business, National Flooring Equipment has over 50 patented technologies, including the Rogue walk-behind scraper and the angled shank blade. From its new Manchester base, the company is offering product demonstrations and training so that construction and renovation businesses can work efficiently, safely and achieve the maximum return on investment (ROI).
National’s physical presence in the UK, gives British contractors wider access to National Flooring Equipment’s quality, American-made floor removal and surface preparation tooling and equipment. Importantly, the company will offer free on-the-ground training and support for machine and tooling selection, which are critical factors for job site success. Previously, UK customers would be more reliant on National’s online resources and YouTube videos.
National’s scrapers, unlike other machines on the market, enable contractors to change the pitch and angle of the blade, allowing the operator to insert the blade underneath the floor covering and then effortlessly lift the material off the floor. The company offers tooling for all floor covering types, from cork to carpet, and can accommodate for a variety of subfloor including both hard and soft concrete. The variety of tools National Flooring Equipment has available means that it can be a one-stop-shop for construction workers.

Sunbelt Rentals will offer a range of National Flooring Equipment scraper technology and tooling, including popular walk-behind machines the 550 and 5280, alongside ride-on systems the 5700 and 8000. Sunbelt Rentals is currently the only place in the UK where you can rent a Rogue walk-behind scraper, a versatile machine that bridges the gap between walk-behind and ride-on technology.
The opening of this new facility creates further opportunities for rental and construction companies in the UK and across Europe to collaborate with National Flooring Equipment to ensure contractors can deliver high quality surface preparation work.
