Leading figures from the construction and commercial decorating sectors have joined forces with Dulux Decorator Centre to share their insight on the changing industry for a new webinar series.
John Waterman, COO of leading independent construction company Willmott Dixon and Craig Bell, CEO of the UK’s largest painting contractor Bell Group are among the industry leaders who have offered their expert analysis on the challenges and opportunities facing the trade in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak as part of the Dulux Decorator Centre 360 Industry Insights series.
The webinars aim to provide Dulux Decorator Centre 360 customers with added value through high level market insight which can help them build their businesses back up and identify new opportunities as they arise.
The May launch webinar titled ‘Realities of Post-Covid Working’ featured experts including AkzoNobel MD Alistair McAuley, Willmott Dixon COO John Waterman and Kevin Orme from Care UK providing practical guidance on how to adapt operations and upskill teams.
It was followed in June by ‘Scaling Back Up: How To Build Back Better In A Post-Covid World’ where Dulux Decorator Centre Managing Director John Henderson, Craig Bell, CEO of Bell Group and Ben Doherty, Managing Director of Cousins Group, told customers how contractors are adapting to current challenges and explored the opportunities available in the second half of the year.
The series continued in August with the third webinar which focused on durability. ‘Keeping Buildings Looking Better For Longer’ featured Nick Moore, Procurement Director at Valor Hospitality, which manages hotels including Crowne Plaza, Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton across the UK, as well as globally. He was joined by AkzoNobel Research & Development expert Gary Jefferson and Alex Briggs from Dulux Trade, who introduced the latest Dulux Trade product innovation, as well as Matt Gray from the Dulux Academy discussing practical tips for getting the most out of products to achieve greater durability.
The webinars can be watched again on a dedicated Support Hub which also provides an ever-expanding collection of useful articles for decorating contractors and specifiers.
Dulux Decorator Centre Sales Director Oli Partington, who has hosted the webinars, said: “We want to do all we can to help our customers and the wider construction and decorating industry build back up following the challenges of recent months.
“We’ve worked hard to completely reopen all our stores to customers with new Safeserve processes in place so they can get the products they need, but we know there’s more we can do to help.
“Our Dulux Decorator Centre 360 industry insights webinar series sees some of the industry’s leading figures come together with a host of Dulux experts to share their advice and expertise on how best to scale up and adapt to the reality we currently face.”
The series has been launched as part of the Dulux Decorator Centre ‘Backing Our Decorators’ initiative, which also includes the opportunity for customers to access 3 months free Checkatrade membership for new customers, use a dedicated Workfinder to unite those who need labour with decorators looking for work, and a range of other supportive content such as advice for working safely.
