LOW TEMPERATURE HEATING SYSTEMS

Heating professionals working with low temperature heating systems, principally heat pumps, can now benefit from two new courses at Grant UK’s Wiltshire based training centre. The LCL Awards Level 3 Award in Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings and the LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps Systems (Non-refrigerant Circuits) are both now available.

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

 

A range of training courses designed to upskill plumbing and heating engineers in the installation of air source heat pump systems has been introduced by Daikin UK. The manufacturer is now offering the DUK-H25: LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems (non-refrigerant circuits), for example.

REGULATION UPDATES

Klober has invested in training resources to support contractors ahead of updates to Approved Document: Part F in 2022. The company’s new CPD video is being hosted online, free of charge and will explore the elimination of condensation in pitched roofs, with reference to BS 5250:2021, and details requirements for ventilation in pitched roofing.

DIGITAL ACCESS SOLUTIONS

Instruction on the Abloy UK Aperio and Incedo systems is being run at the company’s Digital Access Solutions Academy. The purpose-built facility allows the trades to showcase, work with, install and test the company’s extensive range of products, with particular focus on new digital solutions and ecosystems.

TIMBER DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

A written library of technical documents on the specification of timber products will shortly be available thanks to a partnership between Timber Development UK (TDUK), Edinburgh Napier University and the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE).
The library will cover timber supply, design considerations and building techniques.

KITCHEN KIT TRAINING

A manufacturer of factory-built, bespoke and made-to-measure kitchens and bathrooms is launching a Training Academy for its trade customers. The Kitchen Kit facility will hold free events for up to 15 participants, with parking available and lunch provided. Attendees will become experienced in all aspects of the product, sales, delivery and application.

 

SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY

The skills to bring sustainable technology to homes can be learnt at the Kinectid Academy, including heat pump design and installation know-how, and preparing the MCS accreditation needed to qualify for the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme initiative. The UK government has set a target to reach Net Zero by 2050, and part of that goal is installing 600,000 heat pumps by 2028.
