Klober has announced new training days focused on the fundamentals of roofing, key theories on roofing ventilation, and roofing installation best practices.
Recognising the importance that merchants and their teams play in tradespeoples’ day-to-day jobs, Klober, the UK’s leading distributor of roofing ventilation products and accessories, has two upcoming Klober Training Days. These one day sessions are designed to give trade counter staff confidence to assist roofing contractors with their projects and offer the right knowledge and advice around products and standards.
The next Klober Training Days will be held on Tuesday 25 June 2024, and Wednesday 17 July 2024, at Klober’s distribution centre in Castle Donington, East Midlands. The free to attend courses are ideally suited to both newcomers and existing trade counter staff who want to refresh their knowledge, with a full day of theory-based and hands-on training provided by Klober’s roofing experts.
Each Klober Training Day will cover key roofing topics and products, starting at 9am and finishing at 4pm, with lunch provided. Attendees can expect to learn about:
- The importance of ventilation and adhering to British Standards
- Eaves vents and tile vents
- Membranes
- Dry fix ridge and hip products
- Verge and valleys
- Lead free alternatives for roof flashings
Delegates will also be able to get hands-on with two practical installation sessions on Klober’s dedicated training rigs, as well as take a quiz to test their knowledge gained from the day.
Nick King, Portfolio Manager for Klober UK, said: “We know merchants have a key role in the construction industry, and often, it’s at the trade counter where knowledge is shared and answers are sought by tradespeople. However, it can also be challenging for those that have just joined the industry, given the complexities of roofing, to pass on the right advice. At Klober we see hands-on practical training as being essential for any industry newcomer.
“The aim of the one-day courses is to increase trade counter staff’s knowledge and products such as tile vents, our lead free flashing alternative Wakaflex, and a range of dry fix products can be installed on our rigs. We hope those who come on the course will leave with having the confidence to engage with roofers and contractors and in turn, be able to spread awareness on best practices.”
