Professional Builder’s Tibby Singh fixes it with PRO OXIT
There’s so many adhesives and sealants out there these days that it can get confusing choosing the right one for the job. I was tasked to test if OX have filled a gap in the market with their PRO OXIT, which is a 3 in 1 Adhesive, Sealant and Gap Filler.
I am a little sceptical about using products that claim to be multi–purpose because I wonder if they perform better in one aspect, such as an adhesive than as a sealant. However, the PRO OXIT seals the deal as it performs great all round, as an adhesive, sealant and gap filler.
It can be used on a wide range of substrates/materials without much surface preparations needed which is perfect when you’re reusing materials as it saves time not having to clean them perfectly so there’s no debris on the surface.
The industrial grab means it provides a quick grab and super strength once it’s dried. It even bonds in the wet and under water. This is incredible because there has been cases where I’ve been working outside in the rain doing some jobs that must be done – come rain or shine this will pull you out of some sticky situations. That obviously means it can be used inside or outside and, with a high UV resistance, it helps if anything is exposed directly to sunlight.
Another great property is the superior high flexibility. As we know some materials are constantly breathing and, depending on the weather, they may contract and expand. With the PRO OXIT being flexible, it will move with the material preventing any cracking occurring in the materials that have been bonded or sealed.
It is also perfect for sealing baths, or even in kitchens, and it is food safe compliant. If that’s not enough it even claims to be anti-mould, making it perfect to use in areas where it’s constantly exposed to water, such as baths and sinks. Whilst this is all sinking in, to top it off it’s even paintable so you’ll also be in the decorators’ good books. However if you don’t want to paint over the seal and need a specific colour it is available in four common colours – white, black, clear and anthracite.
There’s no grey areas when it comes to the PRO OXIT 3 in 1 Adhesive, Sealant and Gap Filler and for me it does seal the deal!
