Professional Builder catches up with the latest product in the PipeSnug and FlueSnug range – the FS5.
When retrofitting heating systems, you often find a familiar set of challenges: drilling new flue holes, sealing around existing pipework and compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. It can be time-consuming and messy and older buildings in particular present difficulties, as they weren’t designed with today’s airtight, energy-efficient standards in mind.

Under the latest Part L regulations, all new boiler installations must have properly sealed pipe penetrations to prevent heat loss, achieved by using collars or grommets. Talon says fitting the FS5 means installers easily meet these regulations. It provides a tight, durable seal around the flue, helping maintain the building’s energy performance while keeping installation times to a minimum.
