Snickers Workwear’s Trousers with Capsulized Kneepads review

If you’re bending the knee on a regular basis you’re either a Premier League footballer or a builder. If you’re the latter you’ll definitely need Snickers Workwear’s AllroundWork Stretch Trousers with Capsulized Kneepads and Holster Pockets. PB’s Tibby Singh finds out more.

Snickers Workwear has a reputation for excellence and commitment to craftsmanship. It is a brand that most people are familiar with and distinguishable from its smart look. The company continually puts a lot into researching and developing garments that will benefit the trade and one of its latest launches is its AllroundWork Stretch Trousers with Capsulized Kneepads and Holster Pockets.

These are the world’s first work trousers with certified knee pads permanently welded into place. It’s an interesting concept, and I was actually looking forward to getting down on my knees to try them out.

As expected, the fitting always seems to be perfect and almost custom made, but I was wondering if the capsulized kneepads would cover the knees without any further adjustment? I can confirm they do, which is great and one less frustrating thing to worry about. This design also eliminates the issue of leaving your knee pads at home or in the van.

Another problem I’ve faced with the open knee pocket trousers is they were good at collecting dust so, at the end of the day, they’d be filled with sawdust and more, adding extra weight and the need to clean them before washing them. So, just to confirm, when it comes to washing these trousers, they are machine washable.

The trousers are light in weight with the integrated knee pads not being too noticeable. This doesn’t mean Snickers Workwear has compromised on durability because these trousers still feature CORDURA technology. They have the ripstop stretch panels and the reinforced holster pockets with reflective webbing loops and zipped compartments.

So, they still possess all the pockets that I always lose count of. This is actually an advantage, because when I’m working, I like to fill my pockets with all the tools for the job. It makes me more efficient and means I can get the job done quicker. The only problem is I can never remember which pocket I put my van keys in.

They haven’t compromised on any other pockets, such as the ones for the retractable knife, folding rule and – my favourite – the one for your small pencils. The number of times I’ve put my pencil in my holster pocket and not been able to find it is unbelievable. With this it allows you to slide the small pencil in without it getting lost, and it’s these small details that make a big difference.

As well as the integrated knee pads, these trousers also have an integrated belt. Again, if you ever forget your belt there’s a plan B and you don’t need to worry about looking around on site for a piece of wire from the sparkies or even cable ties – we’ve all been there at some point.

Just when I thought that the Snickers Workwear trousers can’t be improved in any way, Snickers have done just that with its AllroundWork Stretch Trousers with Capsulized Kneepads and Holster Pockets. They really are a friend in ‘knees’.
