Why is the Switchback Safety Boot a customer favourite?
“Good question. Over the years, we’ve had a staggering amount of positive feedback from customers such as: ‘Best boots so far, I’ve had the previous versions and have now got the latest version’; ‘I would without a doubt recommend these boots’; ‘My fav for daily comfort;‘ as well as ‘the best boots I’ve ever had‘. We’re so pleased that the Switchback has become a great hit with our customers. It’s for that reason that we developed the Switchback with more features.”
Tell us about the Switchback 3, what is new?
“Since 2013, we’ve made further developments to the Switchback to improve its practicality, comfort, and design, for tradespeople to wear day in and day out. The Switchback 3 – Scruffs latest version – comes with improved eyelets that can be wrapped or threaded, and aluminium toe caps for less weight. Furthermore, the safety boot has better contouring for an improved fit and added comfort, an improved sole to give better foot flex, and extra grip for safe working.”
Why do you think these trousers are a best seller?
“Our Trade Flex Trousers are made with built-in stretch for comfort and flexibility. What’s more, the trousers incorporate a load of clever design features that are ultra-practical. Plus, they look good!”
Tell us more about the design features?
“These slim fit trousers include:
- Hard wearing abrasion-resistant CORDURA knee pad pockets
- Easy access holster pockets for handy storage
- A cargo pocket with a mobile phone pocket, ruler pocket, secure zip pocket
- Hammer loop, tool loops and D-ring for tool and accessory storage
Also, they’re available in Black and Graphite.”
Moving onto your Trade Hoodie, why do you think it is more popular compared to other hoodies?
“The Trade Hoodie was developed with tradespeople through focus groups and wear trials, which is why it’s got abrasion-resistant Abratect panels on the cuffs and elbows. These are usually the first areas to wear out on a standard hoodie, but the Abratect panels mean the Scruffs Trade Hoodie can withstand much more wear and tear. It’s also made from proper comfy brushed fleece and has two zipped pockets to keep valuables safe. Oh, and it looks pretty decent down the pub after work too!”
How do you come up with your hoodie designs? Why should a tradesperson choose a Scruffs hoodie?
“Hoodies have always been a hit with the trades, on and off site. Almost every tradesperson has that trusty old top – the one that they throw on to keep comfy and warm.
This was our inspiration when designing our hoodies. We wanted to create a range of workwear that was durable, comfortable and warm, but added some modern features, so they look good too. Also, all our workwear and safety footwear are put to the test by real people on the job. Trade is at the core of everything we do, so we like to make sure our kit works as hard as our customers do.”
