Fix-R PVC Single Ply and Fix-R Air and Vapour Control Layer (AVCL), which are now available across their nationwide branch network.
The new PVC Single Ply system is available in both mechanically fixed and bonded systems, offering a waterproof solution that involves no gas torches, making it increasingly popular as the use of gas torches on roofs becomes more restricted. Both systems have a 15-year ‘One Warranty’ cover and contractors do not need to be approved to install them.
The ‘Mech Fixed’ solution is suitable where the substrate doesn’t allow for adhesives. The polyester scrim-reinforced membrane is mechanically fastened in the overlap using PVC membrane plates and screws, fixing through the substrate below. It’s available in 1.2mm thickness, on a 21.2m² roll.
The PVC ‘Bonded’ system is a glass-fibre-reinforced, fleece-backed membrane, adhered directly to the roof deck using the FIX-R PVC membrane adhesive. It is available in 1.2mm thickness, on a 25.4m² roll.
Both these membrane types are suitable for warm & cold roof applications throughout the year. The roll sizes & adhesives have been chosen to provide the contractor the optimum coverage for domestic type projects, leaving minimal leftover product after the job.
The new FIX-R AVCL is a self-adhesive bituminous membrane featuring an aluminium foil facing and glass fibre reinforcement. The upper aluminium surface provides a suitable surface for PU insulation adhesives to bond to, whilst the bitumen side is compatible with a range of common substrates, including concrete, plywood, OSB, and metal decks. Its high vapour resistance enables it to be used over high-humidity environments.
