Dulux Academy has expanded the opportunities for decorators to upskill – by introducing a new Dulux Academy Live colour workshop dedicated to the 2021 ColourFutures™ palettes.
The workshop builds on Dulux Academy’s commitment to provide the trade with the skills and expertise to engage customers confidently in conversations around colour.
The online ColourFutures™ workshop explores how Dulux Colour Of The Year Brave GroundTM was chosen and how it can be used with its four supporting palettes across every industry sector.
As part of the new Dulux Academy Live, each session is delivered virtually in an engaging and informative way, lasting around 45-60 minutes.
The next workshops will be held on October 8th at 6pm and October 13th at 2pm.
Vickie Mather, Dulux Academy Lead says: “We’re delighted to unveil our new Dulux Academy Live ColourFutures™ workshops.
“Our Dulux Academy colour expert Nicola Holmes will guide participants through the process of how the Colour of the Year and supporting palettes were chosen and how best to use them.
“Decorators will leave with all the tools and knowledge they require to expertly advise both domestic and commercial customers.
“We’re dedicated to helping upskill professionals and provide them with new skills that can really help them drive business growth – and now this can be done from the comfort of their own home.”
This year’s 2021 ColourFutures™ palettes consist of Earth which echoes the tones of the sea, sky and soil, Trust where earth tones combine to create a sense of harmony, Timeless which features energizing ochres and yellows and Expressive, where stand-out pinks and reds are balanced with soft neutrals.
They are all designed to complement the warm energizing nature of Dulux Colour Of The Year Brave GroundTM.
In addition to the live workshops, Dulux Academy has trained over 8,500 decorators to-date on face-to-face courses – honing their skills and providing them with knowledge and expertise that gives them a meaningful competitive advantage.
It currently offers over 50 courses. Among them is a one-day Introduction to The Basic Principles Of Colour And Design, where science, theory and practical elements are combined to show how to devise and implement an interior decorating scheme.
In the Presenting Colour Schemes to Customers one-day course, professionals will gain the skills and knowledge to advise, create and present colour schemes to a wide range of customers from homeowners to the commercial sector.
And over two consecutive days The Designing Beautiful Living Spaces course shows decorators how to create inspirational paint schemes to perfectly suit a client’s brief and learn how to apply contemporary decorating paint techniques.
Nicola Holmes, Dulux Academy Skills Development Consultant, adds: “We take real pride in the way our training moves the dial for decorators.
“All our courses are delivered by former professionals who have extensive experience to draw on.
“It’s a very competitive environment out there at the moment across both the domestic and commercial sectors.
“So whatever stage in their career they are at, sharpening their skills and being able to confidently communicate with customers that they understand all the latest developments in the industry can really set decorators apart from others.”
Launched in 2016, Dulux Academy is the UK’s first dedicated training centre for professional painters and decorators.
