HiKOKI Power Tools UK has relaunched its KC18DBFL2 and KC18DPL 18V Brushless Twin Pack Kits with 36V Multi Volt batteries. When running at 36 Volts (V) the BSL36A18 Multi Volt batteries have a capacity of 2.5 Ampere-hours (Ah), and 5.0Ah at 18V. That means that the 36V battery packs have a capacity of more than 1,000 Watts. Intelligent connecting technology makes it possible for the battery pack to detect whether it is being used in an 18 Volt or a 36V device, and automatically adjusts the voltage.

As part of its expanding outdoor equipment range, Makita has announced the release of a new Twin 18V (36V) LXT Brushless Linetrimmer and 36V LXT Brushless Blower. The former can reach fast cutting speeds of up to 6,500rpm and offers a cutting diameter of 350mm. Thanks to its Automatic Torque Drive Technology (ADT), speed and torque levels are automatically adjusted according to the density of weeds and the machine also features Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT) which shuts down the tool to protect the user if the rotation speed suddenly slows down.
