Visqueen introduces a Registered Installer Scheme

Visqueen is proud to announce the launch of the Registered Installer Scheme, developed in partnership with The National Masonry Academy – part of the Masonry Association of Great Britain – and supported by The Construction Industry Training Board via their national training standards and ATO service.

This nationwide initiative is designed to elevate installer competence, strengthen regulatory compliance, and directly support the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2021 across the UK construction sector.

With cavity walls and damp proof course (DPC) products present on the majority of UK construction sites, the correct and compliant installation of these systems is essential. The Visqueen Registered Installer Scheme responds to this critical industry need by equipping installers with nationally recognised training and certification. The scheme will focus on delivering third-party assessed qualifications and digital verification tools to raise the benchmark for professionalism and safety in construction.

The training programme, approved by CITB and delivered through the National Masonry Academy, consists of a one-day course that blends both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience. It is specifically tailored around the installation of Visqueen’s specialist DPC systems, using the industry-standard Installing Specialist Cloak Systems module. Training can be provided either on-site or at one of the affiliated training centres, with small class sizes (2 to 8 delegates) ensuring personalised instruction and effective skills development.

Importantly, the scheme is accessible to a wide range of learners. There are no formal prerequisites, although a basic understanding of DPC installation and bricklaying terminology is recommended. Delegates holding a CSCS card will be asked to provide it during registration. The cost of training is £240 per individual, with CITB levy payers eligible for a £140 reimbursement upon completion of the course.

Anthony Goode, National Specification Manager at Visqueen said: “We are extremely proud to announce the launch of the Visqueen Registered Installer Scheme in collaboration with the National Masonry Academy. This exciting new initiative is open to all brickwork contractors across the United Kingdom and represents a significant step forward in our commitment to training and quality assurance. It ensures that all stakeholders, from contractors and site managers to specifiers and end clients, can have complete confidence in the quality and consistency of DPC installation on site. By working with the National Masonry Academy, Visqueen is reinforcing its position as a leader in construction product performance, training and support.”

“The scheme strengthens the integrity of the entire construction supply chain by reducing the risk of non-compliance and embedding a culture of corporate responsibility,” says Eve Livett, CEO of the National Masonry Academy. “It offers clients and contractors confidence that installations are being carried out by fully trained, independently assessed professionals who meet the highest standards of quality and safety. As the industry adapts to the demands of the Building Safety Act, initiatives like this are essential for building trust, improving outcomes and futureproofing the workforce.”

To support ongoing competency and compliance, the National Masonry Association has introduced the Visqueen Register of Approved Installers – Continuous On-site Competency App. Designed for installers who complete training with the National Masonry Academy, the app offers a streamlined way to verify and maintain professional competence in real time.

The app features three access levels – for installers, employers and administrators – enabling users to upload evidence of on-site skills, track progress through the scheme’s Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, and verify qualifications instantly. Employers can search and filter approved installers by region and competency level, while administrators oversee submissions and ensure quality assurance. The platform not only simplifies compliance with the Building Safety Act but also supports a culture of ongoing learning, helping ensure that only qualified, verified professionals are delivering work on site.
