Gold Classic 2018: Competition Heating Up!

The Golf Classic 2018 second round is underway, with golfers of all abilities competing in this iconic, national five-round knockout competition.

Entrants are playing for the chance to win a place in the Grand Final, taking place in September at the renowned Slaley Hall, Northumberland.

The first round teed-off in March and thanks to a change in the weather, golfers played some enjoyable golf in good company under blue skies. Matt Kennington, Heritage Consultant & Architectural Technologist of Hoopers Architects won his first game of the tournament saying, “We had a really enjoyable game that could have gone either way and had to be decided by an extra hole!” Many competitors enter the Golf Classic each year to play golf and forge new relationships which often grow into profitable partnerships.

This year there really is everything to play for. Slaley Hall is a sumptuous Elizabethan mansion nestled in 1,000 acres of beautiful Northumberland countryside. Its Hunting Course is a European Tour venue and is known as the ‘Augusta of the North’. The course offers golfers the opportunity to play testing but invigorating golf. All finalists enjoy free golf, gala dinner, prize-giving and overnight stay.

We are also offering spot prizes in each round. These will include branded golf balls, caps and umbrellas, a weekend golf break, and even the chance to take part in the final as lucky losers. Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for more news and more ways to win!

The Golf Classic is proud to receive the continued support of Marley Plumbing & Drainage. The leading manufacturer and supplier of above and below ground drainage has sponsored the tournament since it started. The Golf Classic is also supported by a wide cross-section of the specialist construction press and media, further proof of its position as a flagship event in the industry calendar.

We wish everyone playing in the second round the very best of luck. Please send in your pictures and stories from your games, there is a prize for those we include in press release and online.
