SCANGRIP’s game changing work light concept

SCANGRIP is lighting the way with a new concept in work lights

If you want to be sure you’re using a professional product built for the rigours of site use then a good place to start is an acknowledged specialist in the field. Given that it only manufactures work lights, SCANGRIP confidently commands that status and it’s a reality that is reflected in the functionality, durability and breadth of the range.

More than that, this Danish firm has identified some of the challenges tradespeople encounter on site when using this class of equipment and the answer is SCANGRIP CONNECT. “When it comes to LED work lights one of the main issues for builders is handling multiple batteries,” explains the company’s Content Marketing Specialist, Maria Lykke Bejlegaard Sørensen. “Not only does CONNECT provide the freedom and flexibility of cordless but, thanks to its unique CONNECTORS, it’s also compatible with 21 of the leading power tool brands’ batteries.”

Flexibility

Based on METABO’s cross-manufacturer Cordless Alliance System (CAS), the CONNECT concept facilitates the seamless transition of an 18 or 20V battery from your tool of choice to a SCANGRIP CONNECT work light. Builders will invariably buy into power tools from one company – as well as the same manufacturer’s batteries. With the industry’s leading names already on board, that means that these quality work lights are immediately accessible to each and every trade – but that’s not the only thing that makes SCANGRIP shine out amongst its peers.

Here’s some of the brands of power tools that are compatible with SCANGRIP CONNECT – and there’s more to come! AEG, Ampshare, Berner, Bosch, Bosch Green, Dewalt, Einhell, Fein, Festool, Flex, Hazet, Hikoki, Hilti, Ingersoll, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Ridgid, Snap-On, and Würth

There’s obvious safety advantages of illuminating the workspace, but it’s worth shedding some light on some of the subtler benefits. You’ll be able to see your own work more clearly and produce a better finish. Your productivity will improve, allowing you to move onto the next job more quickly, and it will promote eye health. These are factors that hold true no matter what trade you ply but the sector is nothing if not diverse, and different tradespeople will demand their own solutions.

That’s why SCANGRIP has developed an unrivalled portfolio with lights that are designed for indoor and outdoor applications. Whether it’s something handheld or a large floodlight, and with outputs ranging from 200 to 10,000 lumen, there’s a product for you. Run time’s no barrier either because, when using the 4,000 lumen NOVA 4 CONNECT, for example, you can enjoy uninterrupted illumination of up to 31 hours at 400 lumens. If it’s closer inspection work you’re involved in then consider the NOVA 2 CONNECT handheld model with up to 2,000 lumen and a slim and compact design. Both of these units are also dimmable in five easy steps.

Addressing the aforementioned demands of productivity is the TOWER COMPACT CONNECT. A quick release function allows a tripod that extends from 0.9 – 2 metres to be set up in seconds, so you can get the job done and move on. The two 360° flexible and turnable lampheads emit 2,500 lumen of light that can be directed to exactly where you need it. The TOWER 5 CONNECT continues the two lamphead theme with an output of 5,000 lumen.

Design features

In addition to the tripod options, lights in the range can be securely hung from scaffolding or rafters. There’s magnet brackets available, along with diffusers, and with POWER SUPPLY CONNECT you can easily access mains power. An IP65 rating protects against water and dust ingress, whilst the detail in the design on the likes of the NOVA 4 CONNECT includes a curved structure that affords a further level of defence for the LED against the inevitable knocks of a building site.

The innovation doesn’t stop there because the Multilight Body Connect concept introduces a whole new level of flexibility. Tradespeople will be immediately familiar with the basic power tool handle shape. On this can be secured four different work light heads depending on the application. The Multilight Body Connect can be handheld or secured to a surface via either a strap, hook or magnet. You can choose between SEARCH HEAD CONNECT for a 600 lumen searchlight. If it’s an inspection light you’re looking for then reach for the 750 lumen FLEX HEAD CONNECT. The AREA HEAD CONNECT provides 2,500 lumen of 360° light, and the FLOOD HEAD CONNECT offers 1,500 lumen.

If it’s a larger area you need to illuminate then SCANGRIP CONNECT equally has that covered. The manufacturer’s VEGA CONNECT 2 and VEGA CONNECT 4 provide up to 2,000 and 4,000 lumen respectively. They can be tripod-mounted or positioned exactly where you need them via the integral stand. More powerful still, the light from the AREA 6 CONNECT and AREA 10 CONNECT is dispersed in a 360° span with 6,000 and 10,000 lumen respectively. If you only want to light half of the room or work area you can even switch to 180° dispersion. Crucially, these products emit a diffused light, which is non-blinding and a much pleasanter experience for all the trades on site.

There’s brains as well as power behind this brand because the SCANGRIP CONNECT solutions are equipped with a Battery Safety System including automatic discharge protection, overload protection and temperature surveillance. That means you can make use of your 18 or 20V power tool batteries again and again with the confidence that they won’t be damaged. If that’s not enough then you can connect to up to four lights via Bluetooth, allowing you to adjust to any of the five dimming settings, and turn them on and off all via a mobile device.

SCANGRIP has a long history of producing precision engineered products that stretches back as far as 1906. The company has been exclusively manufacturing work lights since 2008 and, since then, the bright ideas have just keep coming.
