Dulux Academy unveils new spray theatre in partnership with Graco

Dulux Academy has boosted its training facilities with the launch of a new, purpose-built spray theatre at its flagship site in Slough.

The state-of-the-art space, which was launched on 1 July as the Dulux Academy reopened for face-to-face courses, allows their expert skills development consultants to provide more in-depth theory and practical sessions using the latest equipment supplied by Graco.

Access to the extensive range of Graco spray machines, accessories and sundries enables decorators on Dulux Academy courses to develop a full understanding of the features and benefits of each model, giving them the knowledge to select the most appropriate one for their jobs.

A display of equipment including lances, power rollers and the jet roller, along with a full range of spray guns and a selection of tips allows trade professionals to learn more about alternative ways of using spray for the required finish.

Alongside this, decorators will also benefit from a hand-selected showcase of the maintenance and spares range for the most common decorative jobs, and the opportunity to test the array of available PPE.

The new theatre space also boasts a 65” wide-screen TV to assist the Dulux Academy team in delivering the theory sections of spray courses.

Vickie Mather, Dulux Academy Lead says: “We’re delighted to unveil our new spray theatre and we’re looking forward to welcoming decorators to the space as courses resume.

“The cutting-edge space allows our team to combine theory and hands-on practical know-how in purpose-built surroundings.

“By partnering with Graco, we can provide our delegates with the latest equipment as they learn new techniques, ensuring the decorating trade has access to the very highest levels of training.

Graco Country Manager Andy Bullock commented: “We’re thrilled to partner with Dulux Academy on their new spray theatre.

“We’re confident the combination of our products with their training expertise will be a huge benefit to the UK’s decorating professionals.”

Other supporters include Mirka who are showcasing their range of sanders, alongside samples of their Abranet products. The spray theatre is also home to a selection of spray related products and samples from Tesa.

Following the launch, Dulux Academy will continue to develop its spray offering with the introduction of new spray courses in the coming months.

Launched in 2016, Dulux Academy is the UK’s first dedicated training centre for professional painters and decorators. Classes are delivered by experienced Dulux Academy skills development consultants, who are all former professionals. Approved by City & Guilds and the Construction Industry Training

Board (CITB), to date Dulux Academy has welcomed more than 7,500 course attendees.
