With a week to go until the deadline for entries, there’s still time for Britain’s brightest and best roofing apprentices to enter BMI’s Apprentice of the Year 2021. October 1st is the deadline for the competition, which is divided into two categories – one for pitched roofing and one for flat; and those experienced in both can enter both to improve their chances of making the shortlist.
The competition is unique in the construction industry for the emphasis it places on soft and commercial skills – such as customer service, estimating and marketing – along with technical assessments.
BMI’s Apprentice of the Year is open to all who are recognised as an apprentice by their employer, or those working towards qualified status. The competition seeks to identify the industry’s apprentices with the greatest potential and acknowledge their promise, commitment and ability.
The two-day final takes place at the BMI Academy near Cirencester on 17th and 18th November, with the winners being announced at a gala dinner on the last evening.
