Apprentices Encouraged To Share Best Work To Win PS4

British Gypsum is calling for all budding plasterers to submit examples of their best work to be in with a chance of winning one of five PS4s.

The company is celebrating the success of its Learning Hub with the launch of the #BGshoutout competition, giving all plastering apprentices a chance showcase examples of their best work across a variety of social media platforms and win some fantastic prizes.

The Learning Hub, which was launched in 2013, is designed to support the next generation of plasterers in their journey through training courses and provides access to the latest products, resources and industry expertise.

Dave Hall, Technical Academy Manager at British Gypsum, explains: “The Learning Hub has proved to be a robust system in supporting colleges, helping students become industry ready and most importantly, closing the gap between manufacturers and education providers.

“During several visits to a number of colleges, we have seen some great quality work that apprentices across the country have produced, using the latest materials on the market. We want to share the work and achievements as wide as possible and show what apprentices are capable of.”

To enter, British Gypsum is asking apprentices to submit a variety of images and videos of their work across the social media channels Vine, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #BGshoutout. The company will be supplying regular themes to demonstrate the work they would like to see to ensure all skills and products are incorporated into the competition. Five winners will then be selected and awarded with a brand new PS4 and a tour of the British Gypsum mine.

The Learning Hub currently runs across 69 further education colleges across the UK, providing access to resources such as step-by-step videos, brochures and guides and technical support from British Gypsum experts. Apprentices and lecturers also have access to an online platform which features presentations mapped to NVQ qualifications, learning exercises, videos, new product details and a discussion forum where users can chat with fellow trainees and technical experts.
